Our Committee
The Committee of an Organisation has an important role to play. The Committee is a collection of individuals that form the leadership group and is primarily responsible for governing, overseeing the affairs of and making strategic decisions on behalf of its’ members.
To properly oversee the affairs of an organisation, a Committee should consist of Committee members that possess a mix of skill sets, diversity and experiences. Each has a defined role and contributes to the collective decision making of the Committee. A Committee member role is a strategic position and should not be confused with the management and operational roles that are undertaken by employees like an Executive Officer or Director. The day to day work should be managed and completed by the staff and volunteers who have been engaged and are responsible for this purpose.
The Cabinet Makers Association of WA is indeed fortunate to have such a dedicated and skilled Committee in place, each providing valuable advice, opinions and independent judgement to ensure all goals and activities set out in the Strategic Plan and achieved and align with the Associations’ Constitution. As in many other Not-for-profits organisations, the CMAWA Committee works tirelessly behind the scenes and offer this time on a voluntary basis.
